So here it is, and part five'll be out soon. ;) ..::[It's Hard To Go From First To Last]::[Part Four]::.. PART FOUR Damn Regret It was Rex that had come for her instead of Ella. He smiled and beckoned for her to follow him. Adelle knew there wasn’t much choice but to do so. So much for the talk with Ella. Unlike Ely, Rex did not take Adelle’s hand. He smiled and attempted to be friendly, though his barrier of privacy remained tall. "Are you all right, Adelle? You look a little shaken up." Adelle looked at the ground. "To be honest, I’m not that great. But it’s nothing, don’t worry." Rex was one of those people who wanted to either do the right or best thing all the time. But for once he didn’t know what was the correct thing to do at all- press her further or let it go. He let it go. After all, that’s what she wanted. "Oh...kay." A pause. Adelle paid no attention to it. "I have to tell you some- dammit!" She peered up and instantly discovered the problem. Dalin Wilbey, one of the ‘nerds’ that Rex and Ely always tried to fend off, was headed for them. And they were so close to Rex’s house... "Well how ya be, Rex ‘n’ Adelle?" Adelle really hated the way he pronounced her name as ‘Ah-deli.’ It annoyed the hell out of her. "Well, Dalin, right now we’re-" "Go the fuck away," Rex interrupted. "You aren’t welcome here. Me and Adelle-" "Are busy. But I’ll see y later, okay?" Dalin looked at the two of them, then nodded and sped in the opposite direction. "What were you saying?" Adelle asked after he vanished from sight. "Oh. I... have to tell you something." She nodded, expecting the worst. She always did expect the worst, but the reason for it is unknown. "What?" Rex sighed." "I don’t really know what to do, I’m really panicked about the whole thing, but-" Rex had Adelle stumped. "What?!" "Ella’s pregnant." Adelle’s world crashed right then and there. That was so not the answer she’d expected. |
